Blount County is built on hard work, service, and a deep commitment to community — values that were on display at the Best of Blount Awards hosted by Blount Partnership earlier this year. The event brought together more than 600 community members to celebrate eight outstanding individuals and businesses who continue to make Blount County a remarkable place.
The evening was filled with gratitude, recognition, and a shared appreciation for those who strengthen our community.
A particularly meaningful moment of the night included recognition of four longtime community leaders — Clara McNutt, Elton Jones, Mike Davis, and Bryan Cable — who were named Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Members for their exceptional service and lasting dedication to Blount County.
This year’s award recipients represented what makes Blount County thrive:
- Philanthropist of the Year: Brenda Sellers, honored for her lifelong commitment to serving residents and supporting local nonprofits
- Small Business of the Year: Dandy Lions Gifts
- Large Business of the Year: Realty Executives of Maryville
- Bright Future Award: Archer Academy
- Community Impact Award: Trinity Dental
- Young Professional of the Year: Courtney McGhee
- Tourism Impact Award: Smoky Mountain Festivals – Big Foot Festival
- First Responder Award: Tony Crisp, recognized for outstanding leadership with the Maryville Police Department
One of the most moving moments of the evening followed Chief Crisp’s recognition. After receiving a $5,000 check from Cirrus Aircraft as part of its initiative honoring emergency responders, Chief Crisp donated the funds to Maryville Police Officer Justin Brown, who sustained severe injuries while escorting Vice President J.D. Vance’s motorcade last fall — a powerful reminder of the sacrifice and service that protect our community every day.
The Best of Blount Awards reflect more than business success or professional achievement — they highlight character, service, leadership, and the belief that strong communities are built when people step up and invest in one another.
At Blount Lifestyle PAC, we believe these very qualities — integrity, commitment, and community-first leadership — are what keep Blount County thriving. Celebrating those who embody these values reminds us why local involvement matters and why supporting strong leadership is so important for our county’s future.
